Kaveri water problem
The Kaveri River,(Kannada: ಕಾವೇರಿ, Tamil: காவிரி ஆறு) also spelled Cauvery in English, is one of the major rivers of India, which is considered sacred by Hindus. The river originates at Talakaveri, Kodagu district in the Western Ghats in the state of Karnataka, flows generally south and east through Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and across the southern Deccan plateau through the southeastern lowlands, emptying into the Bay of Bengal through two principal mouths.
The Kaveri River basin is estimated to be 27,700 square miles (72,000 km²) with many tributaries including the Shimsha, the Hemavati River, the Arkavathy River, Honnuhole River, Lakshmana Tirtha River, Kabini River, Bhavani River, the Lokapavani River, the Noyyal River and the Amaravati River. Rising in southwestern Karnataka state, it flows southeast some 475 mi (765 km) to enter the Bay of Bengal. East of the city of Mysore it forms the island of Shivanasamudra, on either side of which are the scenic Shivanasamudra Falls[1] The river is the source for an extensive irrigation system and for hydroelectric power.[2] The river has supported irrigated agriculture for centuries and served as the lifeblood of the ancient kingdoms and modern cities of South India. that descend about 320 ft (100 m).[watch the videos of protest by kollywood]

Sri Lankan Civil War
The Sri Lankan Civil War is an ongoing conflict on the island-nation of Sri Lanka. Since the year 1983, there has been on-and-off civil war, predominantly between the government and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE, also known as the Tamil Tigers), a separatist militant organization who fight for the creation of an independent state named Tamil Eelam in the North and East of the island. It is estimated over 70,000 people have been officially listed as killed in the war since 1983[1]. As one of the world’s deadliest ongoing armed conflicts, it has caused significant harm to the population and severe damage to the economy of the country, leading to the ban of the LTTE, the conflict’s chief antagonist, as a terrorist organization in 30 countries including the United States, Australia, the countries of the European Union, and Canada.
As a result of fighting since April 2006, there are more than 200,000 internally displaced persons in the country. Deliberate and indiscriminate attacks on civilians (including killings during aerial bombardment, shelling and claymore mine attacks) are taking place in violation of international humanitarian law. On December 7, 2007 the Human Rights Watch and the Amnesty International in a joint letter asked the UN Human Rights Council to take urgent action in order to end abuses in Sri Lanka, both by the government and the LTTE. watch the recorded videos during war(kindly post your comments there to bring peace)
